Giving Back to the Communities We Serve

Credit unions have a social responsibility to uphold the philosophy of “People Helping People” and to support their communities. But at Advance Financial, it’s more than that. You’ve allowed us to serve and be a part of this community for over 80 years. We’re extremely grateful and, therefore, we want to give back. Paws for a Cause: Supporting Humane Indiana and Local Pets in Need

Advance Financial Federal Credit Union is proud to support Paws for a Cause, a community fundraiser benefiting Humane Indiana in Munster, Indiana, an organization dedicated to rescuing, sheltering, and caring for animals in need.

Through this campaign, we are collecting monetary donations and items from Humane Indiana’s wish list, helping ensure local animals receive the food, medical care, and shelter they need while waiting for loving forever homes. Every contribution whether big or small directly supports animals right here in our community.

We invite members and the community to get involved in meaningful and fun ways throughout the campaign.

Join Our Two Contests:

 

Pet Photo Contest (June 15–30)

  • Show off your beloved pets! Simply post a photo of your pet in the comments of our official Facebook contest post. The photo with the most reactions will win a $25 PetSmart gift card.

Pet Gift Basket Giveaway (July 1–31)

  • Donate an item from Humane Indiana’s wishlist and be entered to win a pet gift basket. One entry per donation. Winner will be drawn in early August.

Proud to Support Cellphones for Soldiers®

We’re proud to serve as an official drop-off center for Cell Phones For Soldiers®, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping active-duty military members and veterans stay connected with the people and resources that matter most.

Cell Phones For Soldiers® provides free communication services and emergency support to service members and veterans by recycling donated cell phones and electronic devices. Since its founding in 2004, the organization has delivered millions of minutes of free talk time, distributed phones and service to veterans in need, and helped families stay connected during deployments and times of transition.

As part of our commitment to community involvement and service, we are honored to support this mission by making it easy for our members and neighbors to give back. Old cellphones can be dropped off at either AFFCU office lobby during normal business hours. 

By donating a device, you’re doing more than decluttering, you’re helping a service member hear a loved one’s voice, a veteran access essential services, and a family stay connected when it matters most.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Cell Phones For Soldiers® and to support those who have served our country. Together, small acts of giving can make a meaningful difference.
