Credit unions have a social responsibility to uphold the philosophy of “People Helping People” and to support their communities. But at Advance Financial, it’s more than that. You’ve allowed us to serve and be a part of this community for over 80 years. We’re extremely grateful and, therefore, we want to give back. Through sponsorship and a variety of donations, charitable events, financial literacy education programs and unique partnerships with local businesses and organizations, Advance Financial is committed to a better Northwest Indiana.

For over 15 years, Advance Financial has helped college-bound high school seniors turn their dreams of attaining a college degree into a reality by providing more than $80,000 in scholarships. Recipients are selected in recognition of their academic excellence and community support. We believe in the value of education and are proud to offer a scholarship program for our Lake and Porter County communities.
This year we awarded a $1,500 scholarship to college-bound graduating senior. The winner was announced at our 82nd Virtual Annual Meeting held on September 2. Congratulations Xavier Lopez!
As a community focused credit union, it is our mission to help others in need. Every January through May, we hold a fundraiser for the Riley Children’s Foundation which is the charitable organization for Indianapolis’ Riley Children’s Hospital. Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health is one of the nation’s best children’s hospitals. Expert, family-centered pediatric care is available at Riley for every child who needs it. Our gifts through Riley Children’s Foundation make it possible for Riley to conduct lifesaving pediatric research and enhance treatment for patients with family-centered services.
Every October, Advance Financial partners with the Food Bank of NWI and hosts a food drive to help families in need for the Thanksgiving holiday. Collection boxes and donation stands are set up in each office and members are encouraged to make monetary or non-perishable food item donations. Since beginning the program, Advance Financial has donated thousands of dollars and hundreds of pounds of food to the Food Bank of NWI. Through our recent partnership with Enterprise Car Sales and their charitable grant program, the Food Bank has also received $4,000 in grants to help feed families in our community.
Every holiday season, Advance Financial proudly participates in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. To ensure that all children have a gift to open for Christmas, The Salvation Army identifies families in need through their corps community centers and social service programs. Special cards are completed for each child listing their age and Christmas gift wishes. The cards are placed on Christmas trees at both of our offices where staff and members can select as many cards as they like and purchase gifts for the ‘angels’. Gifts are returned to our office and are passed on to the Salvation Army for distribution. Through our partnership with Enterprise Car Sales and their grant program, the Salvation Army received a grant of $1,500 to help meet the needs of those less fortunate in our communities.
